Comprehensive Eye Exams

A comprehensive eye exam is equivalent to a physical for your eyes. It involves a thorough evaluation of the entire eye. Eye exams not only check for your eyeglass and/or contact lens prescription, it also involves checking the health of the eye. Lake Ridge Eye Care uses special diagnostic instruments to assess the external and internal health of the eye. In addition, we check your eye pressures, eye muscles, and peripheral vision during the exam.

Pediatric Eye Care

Some parents believe that children do not need to see an optometrist for an eye exam unless they notice any vision problems because pediatricians and/or school nurses usually provide adequate vision screenings. Although this may be true in rare cases, most screenings simply test to see if a child can see 20/40 or better. Children need comprehensive eye care as well as adults. A complete pediatric eye health exam will provide information on the strength and motility of the child’s eye muscles, visual capabilities, as well as external and internal ocular health. These are all essential in allowing children to learn and strive in life and school.

Optical

We carry a large selection of designer frames for the entire family. Lake Ridge Eye Care uses only premium lenses to ensure your eyeglasses will be of excellent quality. We will provide you with information on which lens materials, coatings, and finishes are the most beneficial for your usage and prescription. In addition, we are able to adjust and fit your glasses to you for extended comfort and vision.

Contact Lenses

There is an endless variety of contact lenses available today. With the recent technological advances made in the contact lens industry, options for patients and doctors have broadened dramatically. For instance, newer, healthier contact lenses are becoming more readily available and practical. In addition, choices like colored vs. clear lenses, hard vs. soft lenses, daily wear vs. extended wear and bifocal lenses are available. However, not all contact lens choices are ideal for each individual patient. Dr. Kha will discuss these options with you and decide which option is best for your particular needs.

Eye Diseases and Conditions

There are so many eye diseases and conditions that can affect patients. Eye infections, corneal abrasions, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration are just a few examples of how the eye can be compromised. Annual eye exams at Lake Ridge Eye Care are necessary for early detection and/or prevention of these eye diseases. The detection and treatment eye disease at the earliest possible opportunity is essential to preserving life-long vision.

Eye Emergencies

Our office provides 24/7 emergency service for eye injuries and infections. During office hours, our staff will schedule an appointment so you can come in as soon as possible. After hours, Dr. Kha is on-call and can be contacted by calling 972-641-5900 and following the voice prompts.

Computer Vision

The number of people who work with computers is progressively increasing. With increased time spent in front of a computer, more and more patients are experiencing eye symptoms such as eye fatigue, focusing difficulty, redness, and/or dryness. Lake Ridge Eye Care can provide helpful options to relieve these symptoms for our patients.

Laser Surgery Consultation

With all the new advances in LASIK and the hype you hear in its advertising, it is difficult to know the true details of the procedure and the risks/benefits. Dr. Kha can discuss LASIK at length with you as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have. We work with the best LASIK surgeons in town and provide both pre- and post-op care for our patients.

Surgery Co-management

We can provide the before and after care for patients who have undergone surgeries such as cataracts and LASIK. We can also have arrangements established with other specialized eye care doctors to manage such conditions as retinal tears/holes, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye changes.
